Acts 14:17 says "yet he has not abandoned his witness: he continues to do good, to give you rain from heaven, to give you fruitful seasons, to fill you with food and your hearts with joy."
We are in intricate world where things are falling apart on a daily basis, stories of down time failure in businesses, epidemic, well-being, finances and credit crunch as taking up the society to the point that even one's survival is threatened. This issues on a regular basis as occupied peoples mind and in turn look for answers in resolving the problem and when issues are not resolved, the atmosphere is filled with confusion.
When we are confused, doubt begins to erupt and we start to exhibit some degree of fear. The word make us to know that God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The good news is that God want us to be fruitful in all our endeavours.
Fear is the opposite of faith and the bible define faith as the substance of things hope for and evidence of things not seen and also teaches us how we can develop our faith in Him by hearing, reading, studying, mediating and doing the word which is sure to change our present status to bear much fruit as we see in Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success". Psalm 1:1-3 "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper". and Jeremiah 17 :7-8 "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit".
God's word compares us to trees in Isaiah 4:2, Psalm 1:1-3; 92:12; 128:3; 52:8; 104:16, Jeremiah 17:7-8. We are called trees of righteousness which is a branch of the Lord that he has made beautiful and to flourish to bear much fruit. John 15:1,4-5, Ephesians 5:30 we are the branches in the tree of Christ our true vine and also, we are members of his body. The branch part of a tree is that which carries the fruit. As the branch our responsibility is to bear the fruit. The fruit of the true vine should be seen on the branches.
The word fruit is taken from the Latin word "Frui" which means the visible expression of an invisible power that is at work within. The fruit that comes out of the branches are the visible expression of life and power that is at work within the true vine. We are destined to be fruitful, called, designed, equipped, commanded, choosing and expected to be fruitful. As we enjoy the power of his word and the atmosphere of his presence we will continue to flourish and reflect the power of his invisible expression in bearing much fruit.
As we see in John 15 God working in and on us. The better we allow the husband man to work in us, the better He can work on us, the better He can work through us, the better He can work with us and the better He can work for us. The purpose of God for us as his children is to enjoy our days on earth through bearing much fruit and equip us with everything good for doing his will. As we do our part of the word, He will be committed to fulfilled his part of the promise to give you rain from heaven, to give you fruitful seasons, to fill you with food and your hearts with joy. - "Then said the Lord to me … I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it" (Jeremiah 1:12, AMP). God protectively and skillfully watches over His Word. Trust Him to bring it to pass in your life.
As God's choosing, peculiar people and holy nation on the earth which our Lord Jesus Christ has left behind to be a witness to Him in propagating the kingdom of God, which was as a result of the ultimate sacrifice He paid on the cross of calvary for the remission of sin and death to give us live and righteousness through His grace to be a partakes of His blessings and always enjoy fruitful seasons. At this point what comes to mind is what God says about our situation but not what the world picture it to be or make us to believe.
Prayer
As we abide in His word our life will be impacted with new fruit, much fruit, good fruit, varieties of fruit, abiding fruit and timely fruit to enjoy fruitful seasons in Jesus Name (Amen).
